What does this mean for drivers?

• Most particulate trap cleaning will be automatic
• If the vehicle is mainly doing stop start urban driving, the filter may never reach the required temperature to burn the soot away. An alert light will instruct the driver to park up somewhere suitable and run the ‘stationary forced regeneration’.
• It is very important that drivers respond to this warning message. Not cleaning the filter will ruin it - and it will lower engine performance.
• It costs between £6,000 and £9,000 to replace a particulate filter.
• Failure to properly maintain the filter is a breach of warranty and DGC cannot be responsible for parts or labour charges incurred.
